June 2009Welcome to the Living Dharma websiteWe provide an annual online programme of Dharma teachings and practices with personal e-mail contact with a mentor every month. The programme runs on a very modest administration charge and donations. Do join. We also include a variety of resource for Dharma practice in this website. Do check it out, even if you do not wish currently to join the programme. For example, there is a comprehensive summary of 25 major discourses of the Buddha of the 152 discourses in Middle Length Discourses. Also see 100 important Pali words worth remembering in the Study of Texts section on the menu. Living Dharma Programme The word Dharma is the key concept in the Buddhist tradition referring to teachings and practices for our awakening. The primary purpose behind Living Dharma is to bring genuine clarity to the range of daily life experiences, to establish a dharma understanding in every area of life and to explore the liberating transformation of consciousness. Living Dharma will be challenging, direct, and immediately applicable to our daily life situations. The teachings and practices will enable students to examine their inner life and their relationship to the world. Living Dharma will draw directly upon the teachings of the Buddha, as revealed in the Pali texts, with direct application to one's own daily life experiences. The programme will serve for some as a significant bridge between retreats and daily life. Living Dharma is not a programme for Buddhist studies, or a kind of do-it-yourself Buddhist psychology. It is a year-round training which will include monthly guidance from a mentor. We hope that the programme will serve as a truly life changing vehicle to realise deep happiness and contentment in daily life through insight and wisdom.
